Canada's Bridal Show, 15 to 17 January 2027: the groom's side of the weekend
Updated October 2026 · Sam’s Menswear editorial team
The wedding show is built for the bride. Most grooms spend it carrying the bag. That is a pity, because January is when a groom can make the one decision that makes the rest of his part easy: when to start his suit.

A smaller show, the Wed Well Showcase, follows on Saturday 30 January from 11 am to 4 pm at the Small Arms Inspection Building in Mississauga. The Shabbos-friendly day
The show opens on a Friday evening and runs through Shabbos. Candle lighting in Toronto on Friday 15 January is 4:48 pm. For a couple who keep Shabbos, the whole weekend comes down to Sunday 17 January, with the 3 pm fashion show.
The studio is open on Sundays from 9 am to 8 pm. A couple can see the show in the afternoon and sit down with Sam the same evening, or the Sunday after. Sam can also come to your home or office for the first appointment and the fitting.
Why January is the right month to think about it
- Most engagements happen in December. In The Knot Worldwide’s 2023 global survey, 19% of Canadian couples who answered got engaged in December, among the highest shares of any country. The wedding show arrives a few weeks later, when the date is fresh.
- Ontario searches for “wedding show” double in January and February compared with the rest of the year, according to five years of Google Trends data.
- Most of those weddings will be in the summer and fall. From 2022 to 2025, June to October held 63.5% of Ontario’s registered marriages. When Ontario gets married →
When his suit needs to start
Two to three months before the date is comfortable. The suit takes three to four weeks to make, with one fitting on the finished garment. The rest of the time goes on choosing cloth without a rush and gathering the groomsmen.
| Wedding in | Start the groom’s suit between |
|---|---|
| April | Early January and early February |
| May | Early February and early March |
| June | Early March and early April |
| August | Early May and early June |
| September | Early June and early July |
| October | Early July and early August |
A spring wedding is the one that catches grooms out. The show is in January, and by the time a May groom thinks of his suit, his comfortable window has opened.
Note the spring calendar too. Pesach falls late in 2027, from 21 to 29 April, and the studio is closed on its Yom Tov days.
What a groom can do at the show
- Bring home the wedding’s colours. The suit has to work with the flowers, the room and the bridesmaids. A photo of the palette is worth more than any brochure.
- Count the party. Groomsmen, both fathers, the ring bearer. The largest wedding party Sam has dressed was 38 men.
- Draw it before you book. The Wedding Party Board lets you line the whole party up on screen, and the Gown Match shows the groom’s suit beside a description of her gown, without showing him the dress.
