The studio.
A quiet room of wool, light, and patience. One client at a time, the way an old tailor's workshop kept its afternoons.
A first visit runs about an hour and a half: a look at what's in your wardrobe today, a full set of measurements taken by hand, and the fabric chosen in daylight. Bring a jacket you wear often if you can. We'll measure it too.

A few straight answers.
What does a first fitting cost?
Nothing. You get the full sit-down, the measurements, and Sam's candid advice at no charge. If we work together, we'll quote the garment honestly before any fabric is cut.
How long does a suit take?
A suit takes three to four weeks on the bench, a shirt two to three. For a wedding, two to three months out is comfortable, and closer is often still possible.
Do you alter existing suits?
Yes: sleeves, hems and trousers, on Sam's own work and on suits from elsewhere. How long it takes depends on the week, so ask when you call.
Can you come to my office or home?
To your office, yes: Sam comes to your office for the first appointment, the measuring, a selection of cloth and the conversation. Book it here and choose At your office, and he will call to confirm the time and the address. A home is different: now and then Sam makes a first visit to a home, and he decides that case by case on the phone. The fitting on the finished garment is always at the Vaughan studio.
Is the studio open on Shabbos or Yom Tov?
No. We're closed all Shabbos and Yom Tov. Over chol hamoed the studio is open by appointment only. Fridays the studio is open 9 to 2, so there is time to prepare before Shabbos.
Is parking easy?
Yes. Parking at the door, a few minutes off Highway 7 and Bathurst.
