The traveling tailor: a fitting at your door
Updated July 2026 · by Sam Talkar
Most tailors make you come downtown. Sam comes to you. The Traveling Tailor service brings the whole fitting — tape, cloth book, notebook — to your home or office, anywhere in the GTA. Here’s how it works and who it’s built for.
What actually happens
Exactly what happens in the studio, in your living room or boardroom: a proper conversation about how you’ll wear the suit, twenty-six measurements taken by hand, cloth laid out in your own light, and the style drawn together. Later fittings can happen the same way. You lose nothing but the commute.
Who it’s for
- Busy professionals who can’t give up half a day for a showroom on Bay Street. An hour in your office beats an afternoon in traffic.
- Wedding parties — I’ll measure a whole group of groomsmen in one visit, at the venue or a family home.
- Anyone who’d simply rather host — the fitting is more relaxed on your own turf, with your own wardrobe on hand to reference.
Where Sam travels
Vaughan, Thornhill, Toronto, North York, Richmond Hill, Markham and across the Greater Toronto Area. For downtown and office visits, the traveling service is often the easier option than coming north to the studio.
What it costs
The suit costs what the suit costs — the house-call is part of the service, not a surcharge dressed up as convenience. For groups and wedding parties there’s usually a minimum of a couple of garments, which most parties clear easily.
Ready when you are — book a visit, or design your suit first and I’ll bring the cloth to match.
