A home studio at 318 Charlton Avenue, on the Vaughan–Thornhill line, by appointment. It's a quiet room of fabric and light: one client at a time, no showroom floor.

Do you come to my home or office?

To your office, yes. I'll come to you for the first appointment: the measuring, a selection of cloth and the conversation about what you need. The fitting on the finished garment happens at the studio, where the mirrors and the light are. A home is different: I've gone out before, but that one I decide case by case, so ask me and I'll give you a straight yes or no.

Which areas do you serve?

Clients come from Vaughan, Thornhill, Toronto, North York, Richmond Hill, Markham and right across the GTA. The fitting itself happens at the studio, and it's worth the drive: an hour here saves three rounds of guessing.

Do I need an appointment?

Yes. Everything is by appointment, so you have the room, and my full attention, to yourself: one client at a time. Book online or call 647·458·0711.

Yes: parking at the door, a few minutes off Highway 7 and Bathurst. There is no GO station within walking distance, so come by car or taxi.

The short answer: yes, to your office.

Sam comes to your office for the first appointment. The tape, a selection of cloth, and the conversation about what the suit is for and how you actually stand, sit and work. It suits the men who can’t get away from the building, and the ones who simply would rather not lose an afternoon to the drive.

Two things to know before you book.

It’s the first appointment. The fitting comes later, on the finished garment, and that happens at the studio in Vaughan. This isn’t Sam being precious about it, and it’s worth understanding why, because it affects the suit you end up with.

A home is different. Now and then Sam makes a first visit to a home, when it makes sense, and he decides that case by case on the phone. Ask, and you’ll get a straight yes or no.

Why the fitting still happens at the studio

Because a fitting isn’t measuring. It’s a wall of fabric in daylight, a three-way mirror, a pinning surface, and chalk that has to go on straight. An office gives you none of those, and every one of them changes the garment.

The light alone decides things. A navy that looks black under office lighting reads properly by the studio window, and men change their minds about cloth constantly once they see it honestly. That’s why the office visit brings a selection to choose from, and why anything still undecided is settled at the studio.

And you can’t judge a shoulder line in a boardroom’s glass door. The shoulder is the one part of a jacket that has to be right at the fitting, because it’s the part nobody can correct afterwards.

So what each visit is for

The visit to your office. Measurements taken by hand, a look at cloth, and a proper conversation about what you need. Enough to get the work started without you leaving the building.

The visit to the studio, three to four weeks later. The finished garment goes on you, in the right light, in front of the right mirror, and anything that needs moving is marked. The alterations that get it right are part of the order rather than a bill at the end.

When an office visit makes the most sense

A schedule that won’t bend. Court dates, a travel week, a job that doesn’t let you leave the building.
A surprise. A partner who wants the suit to be a gift can book the office visit for him; surprise him with a suit covers how.

The part that doesn’t change

However the first appointment happens, your measurements are taken once and kept. Everything after that (the reorder, the second suit, the shirts) is a phone call. Name a fabric and a collar and nobody has to measure you again.
