This is real bespoke and made-to-measure depth: a full-canvas jacket that moulds to you over years, measurements taken by hand and kept on a personal pattern, a wall of house and mill fabrics to choose from in daylight. For galas and black-tie seasons, Sam makes tuxedos to your measurements, midnight or black, satin peak or shawl, that photograph clean where a rental never will. From bohemia to the Mink Mile.
Yorkville was a village in 1830, part of Toronto from 1883, and in the 1960s the centre of the city's bohemian scene, when Joni Mitchell and Neil Young played its coffee houses. Its southern edge is now the Mink Mile, Bloor Street between Yonge and Avenue Road, the most prestigious shopping street in Toronto, with the Royal Ontario Museum at its western end.
